Wednesday

Watched Toy Story with Jazmin this morning. She was asking for Strawberry Shortcake so I brought her into the studay and she played games on the Strawberry Shortcake website, of which she is now a member.

Justy says he is doing ok in Sydney but he's very tired and drained and is looking forward to coming home tomorrow night. He will be beack down there next week but thankfully doesn't have to go to Melbourne at the end of the week as originally planned.

Not much else going on, I have just been enjoying having a few days to myself, and Jazmin has been good as usual :)

Sunday

Good day :) went to the meeting of course, and then came home fo a snooze (all of us) Then went over to Bribie Island and got a snack at Red Rooster then we all shared a Banana Split. Justy even ate some of the banana! Jaz doesn't like banana so I had most of that. Then we came home and had another cat-nap we were all pretty tired then went out to the Caboolture Sports Club for dinner. Jazmin had steak and chips (meat and chips is what she says) and Justin and I had the roast lamb, which is always yummy.

We have had the sofa-bed out this weekend because it is nice to sleep in the air-conditioning. Jazmin and I snuggled on it this morning and watched Care Bears and Shrek. Jaz says "Shrek" now and tries to say donkey, but we are still having a hard time convincing her that not every donkey is Eeyore! I think I'll leave the bed up since Justin is in Sydney most of the week. it's not too bad to sleep on we slept on it last night, but it's double and not queen size - so better for one person or snuggle up close!

Long Time No See

About time I put some pics up!

Outraged: No Dr Phil!

Good quiet one today. Stupid Cricket on TV all day everyday till next Tuesday. I don't mind the cricket actually but not at the expense of Dr Phil...I would suggest that the majority of people who are in fact at home during the day are mums/housewives rather than raving cricket fans so would probably prefer Dr Phil too!!

I walked to IGA and back again today, they had a special on Chicken Schnitzel, so I bought some of that to put in the freezer as I am stocking it up for BBQs. It really helps to buy a little bit when I see it because it means we don't have to find the time or money if we decide to have BBQ at short notice. A lady stopped to ask if I wanted a lift today - I guess it was hard to comprehend why anyone would want to walk in such heat! Jazmin is always so good, she cuddles her blanket and sometimes sleeps.

Justin is back from Melbourne ok - Jazmin and I had a good look round DFO while we were waiting for his plane to come in. I didn't take the pram but Jaz was fine walking (running) but she is really good and usually stops when I ask her to. She enjoyed looking at the stuff through the windows and was pointing out the shoes (she can say shoes) and cups and various other things she can say like dog on the calendar in the bookshop. I love it now she is so interactive and funny.

9.75km

That's how much I've done in exercise so far this week. Got to start somewhere! Looked after Jamin and Alanah yesterday afternoon. I was intending to have a bit of a movie night last night but didn't end up - went to bed and read my book. Justin is in Melbourne at the moment but he gets back tonight which is good because Jazmin was calling for him last night. Went and did the grocery shopping and some other errands this morning - Jazmin was so good most of the time. We had McDonald's toast for breakfast.

Good Weekend

We had a sleep in on Saturday and then went to the Library and the park in the early afternoon. We had a nice lunch in a cafe and came home. After that we went with John and the kids for a BBQ at Bribie Island which was great. Sunday we didn't do much - Jaz slept most of the afternoon and so did we.

This morning we got up and walked to the IGA 2.25km each way (According to whereis.com.au) which takes about an hour round trip including shopping time. I generally buy the ingredients for the night's dinner - it is good motivation.

Sharon is bringing Elijah round this morning and I have made mini mud and orange poppyseed muffins and we'll also be having Cheese and onion chips with french onion dip. Yum :)

Nice day at home

I seem to have recovered from my extreme clumsiness of yesterday thankfully and am toked up on sinus pills so I feel kind of OK. Jazmin woke up at 5:22 this morning - Justin went in to check her - there was nothing wrong so he gave her some toys and told her to go back to sleep - which thankfully she did. That is WAY too early for us!!!!

Congratulations to James & Rose Lawrie - they had a baby girl and called her Madison.

Little Miss ... Butterfingers

Justin had an appointment at Morayfield this morning (yay). He dropped me off at the shops. When I got home and was unpacking the groceries, I knocked a glass onto the floor. After I had finished cleaning that up, I continued to put away the food. I was putting the pop-tops in the fridge for Jazmin and I decided to check and see if the yogurt was still within the best before - it is- I pulled it out and smashed the half-full soy sauce bottle onto the floor and of course soy sauce all through the fridge. I think I will use plastic for the rest of the day!!!!!!!

Jazmin and Alanah were watching "Strawberry Shortcake" on DVD last night and Jazmin can say "tor-be" which is her attempt at "Strawberry" I think it is very cute because she now says "tor-be" or "teddies" depending if she wants to watch Strawberry Shortcake or Care Bears :)

A great educational tragedy has occurred!

We might as well just give up now!!!

Last night, I was reading Jazmin her post-massage, pre-bedtime stories from her "bible stories for babies" book.

We were reading the story of Joseph and Mary travelling to Bethlehem for Jesus to be born.

In the picture, Joseph is leading the donkey with Mary sitting on it.

Jazmin pointed to the picture and said quite clearly and confidently:

"Eeyore"

You Know It's Bad When...

I run out of coffee....this is ME (Coffee freak) we're talking about I ran out of coffee bags yesterday so ground some up and put it in my plunger, which then decided to break (I since fixed it) and this morning I was in a rush so I had Vanilla coffee.....not quite the taste I would normally go for first thing. Anyway went and got the groceries this morning - Justin took Jazmin to get the car looked at while I did the shopping - bliss, no grabby hands to contend with. So now I am somewhat more personable, having had a decent coffee!!!!

Justin has a work appointment this morning and then he is going down to the office at Sunnybank - they still haven't got the new office closer to us ready to go yet. Then he's coming home a bit early as we have an appointment to get Jazmin a referral for her eye.

Jamin and Alanah came over yesterday. Jamin is doing very well with Age of Mythology. Alanah and Jazmin watched Strawberry Shortcake, and My Little Pony and Monsters Inc.

Not too much on for the rest of the week, we are intending to go down to Wet 'n' Wild on the Gold Coast on Saturday, but much of that depends on the weather. They close a lot of it down if there are storms of course, and there was quite a big electrical storm up here yesterday and they may still be in the air.

Yummy Pasta

Last night John & Leah looked after Jazmin for us. We were going to go to a Thai restaurant (Adventurous for Justin!) But turned out it was closed Tuesdays - just our luck! We were going to go and see "Borat" at the movies but it wasn't on at any of our local cinemas. SO.... we had dinner at Fasta Pasta and dessert at Trader Dukes. Turned out to be very nice. I certainly appreciated being able to just leave without having to pick up toys/blankies/chips off the floor first..in fact we didn't even order chips - yay. Jazmin always asks for them when we ask her what she wants! Don't know what magic spell they used but apparently she was pretty good and now she has gone back to bed for a nap so I am still reaping the benefits!!!

Another New Link

"Dear Prudence" is also something I have been reading for years as part of Slate Magazine. Slate Magazine can be acesssed from the link as well. There are many interesting articles on all sorts of different topicsw, usually updated daily or weekly depending on the content. I'd tell you more, but that would spoil the surprise, so you'll just have to check it out!

We got a new computer yesterday - about time too, my other one was barely usable anymore and often crashed before it was even fully booted, and was very frustrating. I am still using my split ergonomic keyboard as I find it infinitely easier to use. I am enjoying the new 20" screen very much!!!
