Logan

At Logan today, Justin has his training at Beenleigh. We stayed down here last night. Yesterday we had a look at some houses in Beenleigh and most were tiny and gross. One had external laundry out the front, no built-ins and no bath. Plenty of kids get clean without a bath, but Jazmin hates water on her head and face, so I really would prefer a bath and so would Justy since he does most of the bathing anyway. Those bedrooms are tiny - I don't think that our bed would even fit. And in one of them the smallest bedroom was painted bright blue brick. It was so gross I dont think I could have put Jazmin in there - I said to Justin that I would feel like I was putting her in a jail cell! There was another one that we saw which was quite a bit better the complex used to be a retirement villiage, but isn't now. It would have been ok except we were not allowed to put any sort of fence around the yard, so therefore it would not be suitable with a toddler. We've decided to abandon Beenleigh and focus on Logan & north. Sure the rent is cheap at Beenleigh, but there are reasons...

Jazmin did very well last night once we got her to stay in bed on the bottom bunk. Justy got a blanket and tucked it into the top bunk to make a cubby for Jaz which she absolutey loved!

We're at the Hyperdome today. Currently I am in the library, but there is heaps to do here including a decent indoor plaground which is great when Jazmin gets sick of the pram. She is being so good sitting in the pram at the moment - she is tired!

Change is in the Air

Changing nappies, changing jobs (Justin for that one, not me!) and maybe changing house all in the very near future. It does not take the foresight of Apollo to see that the nappy changing will come first! However, Justin starts his new job on Friday - which is a training day. The job is at Moorooka, (south-side Brisbane for non-Qld readers!) so it is a distinct possibility that we will move to the Logan area or further north towards Moorooka to cut down on commuting time.

Sea World

We went to Sea World on the Gold Coast for my birthday on Saturday. We had fun but were too cold and tired to go round the whole thing, I think we did about half of it.Here's some pics.

Windy Wednesday

Very cold here & windy, but much worse where Justy was - in Bathurst, where it actually snowed!! These pics are of around Sydney where the predicted storm for last night didn't eventuate. Cool pix though.

I'm Not Having A Tantrum! I'm Not! I'm Not! I'm Not!

Jaz found this swizzle stick with a star that looks like the Fairy Godmother's magic wand from Shrek - and she takes it with her everwhere! This time the tanty was because I had the camera and she wanted to play with it!!

Jazmin reminds me of the "Sulky dolls" when she cries and stands against the wall!

Nothing that watching "My Little Pony" won't fix!

Wild Weather in NSW

The storms and flooding have been pretty bad in NSW, especially on the Central Coast and in Newcastle. Apparently the huge gum tree that was in the front yard of our old house fell onto the house next door. Meanwhile we haven't had a drop of rain up here for about a week.

Here's some pics of the general area:

What's so great about being a dad (part 3)

Jaz is increasing in every direction and dimension and an amazing rate.

Growing taller, more of that beautiful hair, increased running speed and manouverability (particularly at bath time!) and, of course, vocabuary.

Sometime it's difficult to determine exactly what she means, but 90% of the time she can make us understand what she wants. It's really heartwarming to watch her interact with Di or her toys, and see her personality developing.

As mentioned earlier, she loves to climb and has no fear of heights. The other day at the Caboolture School she opened a door and climbed a ladder up to the observation deck outside the A/V room in the auditorium. Spotted walking happily behing the guard rail about 3m off the ground, I had to go up there and carry her down (which did not make her happy).

Later, I saw her opening the door again and this time she had a book in her hand. She made it up 4 of the ladder rungs before she had to ditch the book! Think about the gap between the rungs compared to a 2-year-old's body size and you can see this is an impressive achievement.

It's so good to see her running around and playing with the other kids. It's been raining heavily the last couple of days so we brought a cubby and a slide inside so she can still play. Leanne and Sophie came over reccently and played until they passed out - exhausted...

I recently found a pic of the two most fantastic people in the world having the time of their lives...

Look at the expression on Jazmin's face - she knows she is clever because she has strapped herself into her carseat ready for more adventures. "Come on, you two - get a move on, I'm ready!"

I love you both and wouldn't trade anything, ever.

200th Post

Yes, this is the "number 200"!

We finally got our sofas - the pics aren't great but the sofas are! We love them. John came and helped us with gettting them home from the shop and lifiting them inside.

We have put our old sofas - one in the scrapbooking room and one in the study. They are both sofabeds so we've still got the convenience of being able to have people stay. Recently bought new doonas for the sofabeds too.

Had a good night on Saturday at James & Rose's housewarming party.
